Teacher Schoology Resources
Schoology is an educational Learning Management System (LMS) that serves as a comprehensive teaching and learning platform. Schoology allows teachers, students, and parents in the Elizabeth School District to collaborate to support the personalized learning of each student.
Upcoming Schoology Professional Learning Opportunities:
- Grading in Schoology - This course provides an in-depth look at the grading workflow in Schoology. Participants will learn how grades are populated into the Gradebook. We will explore the different options for sorting, entering, overriding, and tracking grades. In addition, we will view posted grades from the student's perspective.
- Working with Enhanced Question Types - This course provides expansive training regarding the use of an assessment toolbar, creating enhanced questions, and grading through Schoology.
- Using Calculators, Tools, and Math Question Types within Schoology - Whether you teach Algebra I, American History, or Chemistry, you can still use the Math question types and tools in Schoology Assessments. This course is designed to demonstrate the power of the enhanced Math question types and the available Math Tools for students. Participants will learn the nuances of each of the three Math Question Types as they develop an Assessment during this hands-on session. Participants will explore various settings and engage in a live Assessment within the student interface and view the results from the instructor's point of view.
- Grading and District Mastery K-4 - Explore grade setup, aligning materials and selecting scales for grading, evaluation of data, and standards-based opportunities for elementary school grading.
- Using Schoology Portfolios - Participants in this course will learn how to create, edit, and share a Schoology Portfolio. Throughout the session, the instructor will demonstrate a variety of portfolios that highlight both student and educator use. Attendees will learn how Schoology Portfolios provide students and educators with the ability to collect, organize, summarize, and share their work with others quickly and easily.
- Managing and Using Rubrics - This course provides an in-depth look at best practices for creating and using Schoology's three types of rubrics - Custom, Alignment, and Mixed. Participants will look at examples, begin creating a few of their own, and learn how grading Assignments and Discussions with Rubrics saves time while providing detailed feedback on student progress. Sharing and reusing Rubrics will also be addressed.
