Resolution to Declare a Vacancy

Be it resolved that the Board of Education of Elizabeth School District accepts the resignation of Jonathan Waller from the Board of Education effective June 10, 2025; and

Be it further resolved that, in accordance with state law, the Board declares a vacancy in this school director office that will be filled by appointment by the Board within 60 days in accordance with the following procedure:

1.         Interested persons are invited to send a letter to the Board with a statement of interest and qualifications by 5 pm on July 15, 2025, as outlined in the Board Member Vacancy posted on the District Website on Tuesday, June 24, 2025. Candidates will be contacted and the Board may determine whether to move one or more Candidate forward for further consideration.

2.         To be eligible for appointment, a candidate must be a registered elector of the Elizabeth School District for at least twelve consecutive months prior to the appointment, and must not have been convicted of a sexual offense against a child.  C.R.S. 22-31-107(1) (5).

3.         The appointee will serve until the next regular school biennial election in November 2025.
